IRS Tax Preparation
To put it
simply, if you have not paid your taxes for long you are in need of
IRS tax preparation because soon enough you would receive a
communication from the IRS asking you to pay your taxes or face the
consequences. No matter what language they use in the
communication, it adds up to an ultimatum. And you must heed the
warning.
IRS is an efficient organization that specializes in chasing and
hunting down those who dare to run away with the money they owe to
the government. You can certainly live for a year or two in peace
without bothering to pay the taxes but after that IRS would hunt
you down wherever you are.
You must pay your taxes in time and if you haven't it would be
advisable that you prepare yourself to receive an IRS notice. IRS
may impose a tax lien to dilute your rights on your property and if
even after that you are not prompt enough you might also get a tax
levy.
While an IRS lien simply means that your rights to your property
are not absolute, a levy is a process by which the IRS acquires
your property and sells it off to recover tax dues.
Obviously, you would not like your property to be taken away by
the IRS. The first levy that one usually receives is a bank levy.
You bank would be instructed by the IRS to freeze your account and
your bank would comply with the directions. And once your account
has been frozen, you would not be able to withdraw a penny.
After 21 days the money in your account will be transferred to
the IRS. You may survive a bank levy if you bank account has more
money than you owe the government in taxes.
The situation is, thus, nothing short of a nightmare and one
would not wish it upon one's sworn enemy. The best way to avoid it
is to act promptly when one receives the IRS tax lien
notice.
Get in touch with a tax attorney at the earliest. He would be
able to advice you on the course of action you should resort to in
your situation. A tax attorney is someone who has a vast experience
in dealing with the IRS. He would not only be helpful with his
valuable advice but would also be able to help you in negotiating
with the IRS.
All that the IRS wants is the taxes and it would be happy to
settle the issue amicably. You attorney would make it possible to
settle the issue without any adverse consequences to you. Of
course, you'll have to pay a certain amount if you owe money to the
government. However, a tax attorney would ensure that you pay
nothing more than what is unavoidable. IRS tax preparation implies
that one prepares oneself to negotiate with the IRS, which is not
all that easy.
